Position Overview
The Visual Media Designer will be responsible for creating compelling visuals that support Consequence’s editorial stories, social media presence, merch, event experiences, and overall brand identity. This role is ideal for a designer who is passionate about music & entertainment, media, and design innovation, with a keen eye for consistency and creativity across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Story Art: Design engaging visuals to accompany daily editorial content.
- Digital Cover Stories / Features: Conceptualize and design standout artwork for digital cover features that capture audience attention and align with brand identity.
- Story Art Templates: Develop reusable, flexible templates that ensure a consistent and polished look across stories.
- Social Media Graphics: Create custom artwork and design templates tailored for various platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) to maximize engagement.
- Media Kits: Create engaging, client-ready decks that translate brand objectives into culturally relevant creative concepts, ensuring alignment with client KPIs and Consequence’s editorial voice
- Event Branding: Produce graphics and visual materials for Consequence events, including logos, signage, presentations, and digital assets.
- Brand Refresh & Synergy: Lead and Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Consequence’s visual identity, ensuring consistency and cohesion across editorial (existing and new), IP’s, and digital content.
- Collaboration: Work closely with editorial, marketing, production, sales and management teams to understand design needs and deliver creative solutions.
- Standards and Consistency: Uphold the highest standards for presentation design and narrative flow, collaborating with the Editorial Director to maintain consistency and quality across all materials.
- Quality & Timeliness: Balance creativity with efficiency to deliver high-quality assets under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–4 years of professional graphic design experience (media, publishing, or agency industry experience preferred).
- Strong portfolio showcasing design skills across digital, social, and merch applications.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign);
- Experience with motion graphics or video editing is a plus.
- Knowledge of current design trends, social media best practices, META ad platforms, and audience engagement strategies.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for music and storytelling is highly desirable.
