SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for leading the development of effective production systems that promote cost effective manufacturing of products to meet all agreed customer requirements. This includes managing the technical aspects of the equipment and facilities, troubleshooting, and process improvements. The Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerning design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery. Directs maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance for equipment, tooling, and machinery. They are also responsible for new product introduction and transition to operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.Improve plant safety performance and key indicators by eliminating workplace hazards, reducing ergonomic concerns, and working with department managers to improve the overall safety of the plant. Participate in incident reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
2.Provide direction to plant engineering community including Manufacturing Engineering, Launch Management, Resident Engineers, and Maintenance and Tooling Management.
3.Leads launch management activities between the plant, and all outside groups and departments. Responsible for ensuring gate deliverables for launching programs.
4.Implement strategies, principles, and best practices for plant and work cell layouts, equipment selection, maintenance, and manufacturing processes.
5.measurables including: scrap, efficiency, new product launch, line layout/capacity, and capital spending. Establishes priorities and actions for projects related to above items, scrap reductions, efficiency improvements, VAVE/Roadmap projects, engineering change management, and launch management.
6.Design for Manufacture and Assembly DFM/A, Advance Project Quality Planning (APQP) and Review, and approve all deliverables relating to new product launch related to manufacturing engineering.
7.Responsible for plant layouts including placement of all equipment, material storage, material flow.
8.Develop and manage capital budgets and projects for the plant to meet plant objectives within budget.
9.Coordinates activities for Preventive Maintenance, facilities management, and equipment availability.
10.Responsible for all VAVE and Material road map activities and their implementation into the plant.
11.Prioritize Resident Engineering responsibilities within the plant.
12.Responsible for implementation, tracking, monitoring, of the change management process within the plant. Works with other plants, product engineering, resident engineers, purchasing (outside suppliers), to see through the successful implementation of any engineering changes.
13.Leads the development, maintains, and updates line and production standards for the plant such as parts per hour, number of operators, annual standard roll.
14.Assists and/or responsible for the selection, training development, and supervision of staff in partnership with BU leaders.
15.Supports RFQ process new in or existing programs.
16.Consults and assists with any tooling maintenance and repair on improvements to new or existing operations.
17.Monitors key indicators, develop action plans using statistical process control to confirm plant operations, capability, reliability and quality, and report out on progress during management review.
18.Performs all other functions as required
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

▪This position works with minimal supervision, this position also concerns itself with confidential company documents while demanding a high level of attention given to all areas of supervisory responsibility.
PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Note: Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required for all new hires in all positions.
▪BS or MS Degree in Industrial/ Manufacturing Engineering
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
▪Experience in all automotive manufacturing, including but not limited to: injecting molding, aluminum extrusion, fabrication, buffing, finishing, assembly.
▪5 - 10 years of supervisory/project management experience manufacturing environment
Manufacturing knowledge of equipment, tooling processes, and quality requirements

Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
