Role Overview
As the Assistant Controller, you will take ownership of our franchisee accounting program, overseeing all accounting operations related to participating franchisees in our network. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and wants to spearhead one of the core services provided to the franchisee.
You will report directly to the Controller and collaborate closely with Operations and Franchise Administration teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions for our franchisee network, including monthly closes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Manage the franchisee chart of accounts, accounting policies, and internal controls.
- Support onboarding of new franchisees into the accounting system and ensure ongoing compliance with franchisor accounting requirements.
- Prepare consolidated financial reports and variance analyses for leadership.
- Coordinate with external CPA firms on audits, tax filings, and compliance matters.
- Continuously improve processes and implement automation to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred).
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in franchising, multi-entity, or multi-location environments is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software; advanced Excel skills required.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
