Product Engineer I – R&D Support (Cataract & Vitreoretinal)
Join our dynamic R&D team to support the development and transfer of cutting-edge cataract and vitreoretinal products.
- As a Product Engineer I, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are developed, qualified, and transferred efficiently into manufacturing.
- This includes working with suppliers, managing prototypes, maintaining BOMs, supporting production readiness, and addressing quality issues.
2 Year contract - Conversion potential
Pay: 36.00-39.85 per hour doe

Key Responsibilities:
- Support product development, qualification, and prototype builds
- Ensure smooth product transfers and readiness for production
- Identify and qualify alternate materials or components
- Collaborate with suppliers and procurement to maintain component supply
- Troubleshoot quality issues and drive root cause investigations
- Support cost improvements and maintain accurate product data
- Manage labeling and documentation for components and assemblies
Qualifications:
- Master’s in Biomedical Engineering or a scientific discipline (prefer from A&M, UOH UT Austin or Rice)
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage complex processes
- Skilled in technical writing and root cause analysis
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- 1–10 years’ experience in R&D, manufacturing, or quality engineering (Medical Device industry preferred)
