Production Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing

A chemical manufacturing company in Pasadena, TX is hiring a Production Engineer to join their team full-time. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a chemical plant or batch processing environment looking to combine technical problem-solving, hands-on operations support, and continuous improvement.
This role helps keep the plant running at its best — improving safety, boosting efficiency, and ensuring reliable operations. You'll lead process optimization efforts that boost capacity, reduce costs, and enhance safety and quality across a global manufacturing platform.
What You'll Do:
- Monitor and improve daily unit performance (quality, cost, safety)
- Support plant startups, trials, and troubleshooting
- Write or revise SOPs and train chemical operators
- Recommend and implement control logic changes
- Use PFDs, P&IDs, mass & energy balances to optimize processes
- Write MCRs/PCFs and manage small-scale improvement projects
- Work with process equipment (reactors, pumps, exchangers, filters, etc.)
- Collaborate with vendors and plant operations on equipment selection
- Apply data analysis and statistics to solve production issues
- Occasionally step in to provide production supervision support
What We're Looking For:
- BS in Chemical Engineering (or similar technical field)
- Experience in chemical manufacturing or batch processing
- Strong technical and problem-solving mindset
- Comfortable working onsite in a plant environment
