8,000 hours of on-the-job training, gaining real-world experience while working alongside industry professionals. Upon completion, participants will earn a nationally recognized
Journeyman credential and transition into a full-time Skilled Trades role within assembly or machining operations.
Role Overview
As a Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice, you will learn to maintain and repair equipment critical to manufacturing operations. You’ll gain experience using specialized tools, working safely with industrial energy systems, and supporting continuous improvement efforts—all while growing your technical skills in a real production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Equipment Readiness: Perform maintenance and support tasks to keep machinery operational and reduce downtime.
- Champion Safety: Follow health and safety standards, report hazards, and use personal protective equipment consistently.
- Maintain Quality: Apply high workmanship standards, conduct quality checks, and help maximize equipment uptime.
- Support Preventive Maintenance: Contribute to preventive programs, share feedback, and work to extend equipment life.
- Keep Work Areas Organized: Perform regular housekeeping tasks and ensure machines are clean and safe to operate.
- Drive Improvement: Identify process bottlenecks, assist in troubleshooting, and support efficiency initiatives.
- Collaborate Effectively: Communicate clearly with team members and cross-functional partners to solve problems together.
- Commit to Training: Participate fully in formal instruction and developmental activities as part of the apprenticeship program.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree (or equivalent coursework) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Machine Technology/Repair, or related field.
- Strong interest in mechanical systems and manufacturing operations.
- Willingness to complete the full 8,000-hour apprenticeship program.
- Availability to work 2nd or 3rd shift upon program completion.
