About This Role
Under direct supervision of the Application Development Manager, programs enhancements and maintains company databases, SQL views and stored procedures. This position offers telecommuting up to 2 days a week from home.
In This Role You Will
- Assist in the design, programming, and testing of enhancements to in-house custom applications and databases.
- Learn and apply software development practices including version control, coding standards, and documentation.
- Support senior developers by writing simple code modules, reports, and SQL queries.
- Participate in troubleshooting and debugging activities under supervision.
- Help prepare and execute test sessions, including recording results and documenting issues.
- Provide Tier 1 support for developed applications and escalate issues as needed.
- Collaborate with the development team to learn tools, frameworks, and processes.
- Other programming and development-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; BA/BS or associate degree in technology or related field preferred
- Exposure to programming languages such as Java or JavaScript (coursework or projects acceptable).
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of software development concepts (e.g., debugging, testing, version control).
- Coursework or project experience with Eclipse, Git/SVN, or similar tools preferred.
- Willingness to learn new frameworks (e.g., Servoy) and technologies as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to take direction and work in a collaborative environment.
- High level of motivation and commitment to professional growth.
- Ability to travel by car or airplane, including overnight stays
Hiring base salary range: Up to $58,000 annually depending on experience
