The Business Analyst leverages data, technology, and cross-functional collaboration to identify opportunities for improvement, support decision-making, and drive measurable business and sales performance outcomes. This role partners with leadership and functional teams to deliver actionable insights, improve processes, and support key strategic projects in areas such as pricing, forecasting, and margin optimization.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of company systems, including Aspen Canopy ERP, databases, and reporting tools; ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Partner with leadership across sales, operations, and finance to understand objectives, define KPIs, and align analytics to business strategy.
- Transform raw data into actionable insights that improve decision-making, performance, and efficiency.
- Provide analytical support for initiatives including:
- Pricing and margin optimization – Analyze product, customer, and market trends to recommend strategies for profitability.
- Demand forecasting and sales analytics – Build models to guide order planning, resource allocation, and performance targets.
- Inventory and working capital optimization – Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Customer and contract analysis – Support negotiations with scenario modeling, performance tracking, and risk analysis.
- Design and maintain dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance scorecards to support leadership visibility.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to balance priorities and deliver insights on time.
- Continuously evaluate new tools, methods, and technologies to enhance analytics and reporting capabilities.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to distill complex data into clear insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, modeling) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Aspen Canopy ERP; ability to learn and optimize ERP workflows quickly.
- SQL or other database querying skills to pull and validate data directly.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Knowledge of financial principles including P&L, margin, and forecasting.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Team player with strong collaboration skills across departments and locations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
