Job Title: People Operations Coordinator
Salary Range: $57,500-$65,000
Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Denver, CO
Position Objective
The People Operations Coordinator provides essential administrative, compliance, and employee support across the People & Culture department. This role ensures accuracy and confidentiality in employee records, maintains HRIS integrity, and supports the full employee lifecycle with onboarding, documentation, and day-to-day people operations tasks. The Coordinator manages the People & Culture phone line as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, directing issues appropriately while modeling professionalism and confidentiality. By supporting compliance, engagement programs, and culture initiatives, this role helps reinforce a consistent, people-first experience for employees and enables People & Culture leaders to focus on strategy, employee relations, and organizational growth.
Essential Functions
Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Administration (40%)
- Administer the onboarding process from offer acceptance to first day, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule and providing a welcoming experience for new hires.
- Conduct and track I-9 verifications, monitor E-Verify compliance, and maintain documentation per federal and state requirements.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics, including systems access (HRIS, payroll, benefits), account setup, badges, key fobs, and new hire announcements.
- Support employee lifecycle changes (hires, transfers, promotions, terminations) by entering and auditing data in HRIS with timeliness and accuracy.
- Ensure all personnel records are complete, accurate, and compliant with retention requirements.
People & Culture Administrative Support (35%)
- Manage the People & Culture phone line, serving as the first point of contact for employee questions, routing calls, and escalating issues to the appropriate team member.
- Maintain digital employee files with accuracy, ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements and audit readiness.
- Draft, edit, and distribute People & Culture communications (announcements, reminders, policy updates) in alignment with company tone and core values.
- Prepare standard reports, trackers, and dashboards to support audits, compliance obligations, and leadership decision-making.
- Provide as-needed support to Talent Acquisition (e.g., resume review, interview scheduling, candidate documentation) to ensure process continuity during peak periods.
Compliance & Culture Programs (25%)
- Support distribution and acknowledgment of company policies, tracking employee compliance and escalating discrepancies.
- Assist with drafting, formatting, and maintaining SOPs and process documentation for People & Culture functions.
- Provide administrative support for employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and recognition programs, ensuring participation and follow-up.
- Help coordinate culture-building activities (events, recognition, communications) that reinforce company values.
- Actively model company values in all interactions, serving as a culture ambassador and reinforcing a consistent, people-first workplace.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a People & Culture, Human Resources, or administrative support role.
- In lieu of relevant HR experience, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- Familiarity with HRIS/People systems and basic employment regulations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently, balance multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent follow-up skills and a keen sense of urgency for time sensitive matters.
Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel)
- Monday – Friday; holidays, nights and weekend work may be required based on the needs of the business.
- Reliable transportation is a requirement.
- Possess the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, and driving as necessary.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) badge in the state of Colorado.
