Engineer Technician – Field Based (Southwest/Central U.S.)
We are seeking multiple Engineer Technicians to join our team. This is a 100% field-based position supporting projects across the Central U.S. (Texas to Canada, including TX, OK, KS, MO, NE, etc.). Candidates in the Dallas/Fort Worth or Kansas City areas are strongly preferred, but not required.
This role involves installation, testing, troubleshooting, and support of critical telecommunications and electronic systems.
Position Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Openings: 6+ positions available now (up to 12 in coming months)
- Pay: $30–$40/hr + $4.93/hr H&W (for first 40 hrs/week)
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, ~7am–4pm
- Travel: 100% field travel with per diem provided
- Type: 6-month contract-to-hire (based on performance/workload)
- Requirements: U.S. Citizenship, standard background check, drug screen
Responsibilities:
- Install and support racks, cabling, monitors, antennas, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Provide power circuits, grounding, and site prep per engineering specifications.
- Troubleshoot, repair, align, and calibrate electronic systems (radios, audio, voice comms, etc.).
- Perform soldering, splicing, and repair of wire types including coaxial and shielded cables.
- Support LTE antenna installation and fiber path requirements.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and FAA performance verification.
- Work in varied environments, including outdoor weather conditions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma (minimum).
- Ability to travel extensively (100%).
- Must lift at least 50 lbs.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office, email, and Internet tools.
- Ability to work in extreme heat/cold.
- Must meet customer security requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced electronics training (college, trade school, or military).
- 5+ years of experience in testing, repairing, and installing fiber optics, RCE, or other complex electronics.
- Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining electronic transmitting/receiving equipment (radar, radio, telecom, sonar, etc.).
- Knowledge of electronics principles and ability to recommend improvements to equipment and systems.
