Continuous Improvement Engineer – For world class manufacturer of metal fabricated components for consumer goods applications.
This position will report to the Engineering Manager and ideally seeks candidates with 2+ years significant experience in implementation of lean/continuous improvement systems in a heavy industrial environment.
Applicable experience in high volume assembly or continuous flow operations, would be considered a real plus. Candidates with manufacturing or industrial engineering experience while implementing lean, should apply.
Job requirements include:
- Manage, set direction, implement, facilitate and administer the Lean/Continuous Improvement program and culture, policies and initiatives at the plant.
- Primary focus will be involving all employees into the program utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods and process improvement strategies through adequate interactivity and alignment with plant objectives.
- Define objectives, goals and milestones, with Engineering Manager and Lean Core Team.
- Coordinate the Lean deployment strategy, planning and implementation processes.
- Coordinate the planning of projects scheduling in the plant(s), together with Management and Department Experts.
- Supervise the reporting, feedback and information flows.
- Manage the local Department Experts team and other resources, in accordance with plant policies and Lean roadmap.
- Coordinate Lean implementation, including KAIZEN tools.
- Coordinate the workshops planning, organization and resourcing (including additional workshops, when needed).
- Coordinates the approval, with Plant Management, of new lay-outs and/or other organizational critical changes (processes, facilities, procedures, resources).
- Coordinates continuous improvement tools, including Suggestion Schemes.
- Leads by example by coordinating change process management (activities, documentation, other).
- Coordinates the training processes, planning and resourcing, ensuring acquaintance with lean knowledge requirements.
- Train Department Experts and Plant Management on required knowledge, tools and practices.
- Support shop floor teams and employees (coaching, mentoring, and guidance).
- Track implementation activities and identify process deviations/roadblocks (including reporting and escalation); coordinate and propose identification of alternatives and solutions.
- Drive and support process reviews and improvement potentials, reporting status to Plant Management.
2+ years applicable experience and Bachelors degrees in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering or technical certifications will be considered a plus.

Pay: $87,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
