What you’ll do
We are looking for a Battery Materials Engineer / Scientist to lead the development and scale-up of Volexion's drop-in solution. Your role entails working in close collaboration with Volexion’s teams and customers to create meaningful results at increasing levels of scale and impact. This role reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

Key Responsibilities
■ Graphene precursor production, purification, validation and scale-up
■ Encapsulation of Battery Materials, including characterization (e.g., SEM, XPS, DSC/TGA) and scale-up
■ Design and execute electrode slurries and build prototype batteries (coin/pouch cells) to validate and improve electrochemical performance of encapsulated materials
■ Present results to internal teams, customers, investors, industry
■ Develop and maintain operating procedures and quality control system
Required Qualifications
■ BS or MS or PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field
■ Effective and confident communicator, collaborator, and project leader
■ Excellent analytical and time-management skills
■ Experience with lab scale chemical processing and with battery testing equipment
Preferred Qualifications
■ Industry or R&D experience with battery materials synthesis, processing, and characterization
■ Industry or R&D experience with battery cell design, testing, and troubleshooting
■ Industry or R&D experience with advanced coatings
