New England Wire Products, Inc. has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the engineering department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, fabrication and ensuring that productions lines are working efficiently. You will not only work closely with the Plant Manager but also the Sales Executives to ensure our customers are happy with samples and all products produced. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring product quality. Responsibilities:
- Oversee projects from initial concept to production.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed.
- Perform initial and ongoing design reviews.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Identify process deficiencies and develop solutions to improve those deficiencies.
- Develop CAD project drawings and review designs from other team members.
- Research new materials and methods of development.
- Construct prototypes and confirm designs with design/purchasing team.
- Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes.
- Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry standards and business standards.
- Find new ways to lean out processes.
- Working on the factory floor and behind a desk is required.
- Study production and machine requirements.
- Develop and test effective automated and manual systems.
- Design and install equipment.
- Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance.
- Resolve issues and delays in production.
- Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.
- Upgrade systems and processes with new technology
- Train production staff on new processes and procedures as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Proficiency in CAD software and experience with design for manufacturing (DFM)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- On-Site only. Unfortunately, relocation is not offered for this position.
- Salary $70-$80k based off experience.
