Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and engineering, with proficiency in various CAD software tools. This role involves creating detailed designs, schematics, and models that meet project specifications and requirements across multiple industries, including manufacturing and construction. The CAD Designer will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that all designs are accurate, functional, and compliant with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed CAD drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other relevant software.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify design issues and propose effective solutions.
- Assist in project scheduling and management to ensure timely completion of design tasks.
- Create schematics and documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in design projects as needed.
- Perform data collection and analysis to support design decisions.
- Engage in research to stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in designs for accuracy.
- Support systems engineering efforts by integrating various engineering disciplines into cohesive designs.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, Python, C++, and scripting languages.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in mechanical engineering principles.
- Familiarity with civil engineering concepts as they relate to design projects.
- Experience with 3D scanning technologies for accurate modeling.
- Excellent data analysis skills for informed decision-making.
- Ability to conduct thorough research to enhance design processes.
- Strong math skills for calculations related to mechanical design.
- Knowledge of quantum engineering concepts is a plus.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
