Job Title: Redfish Consultant (Automation & Embedded Systems Validation)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Redfish Consultant to help design, architect, and guide the implementation of a comprehensive automated test environment for Redfish API validation on embedded systems.
The consultant will play a key role in ensuring conformance with DMTF Redfish standards, defining test automation architecture using Robot Framework, and advising on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) integration strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Architecture & Solution Design
- Develop an end-to-end test automation framework for Redfish API conformance and interoperability.
- Define architecture for integrating DMTF’s Redfish-Service-Validator and Redfish-Protocol-Validator tools.
- Design secure API validation workflows covering TLS 1.3, RBAC, SPDM attestation, and lifecycle operations.
- Recommend scalable approaches for schema validation, performance testing, and future device extensions.
2. Implementation & Integration Guidance
- Create and demonstrate sample Robot Framework test suites for Redfish API validation.
- Define integration between test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and HIL test infrastructure.
- Provide direction on tooling, frameworks, and best practices for embedded API testing and reporting automation.
3. Advisory & Enablement
- Act as the subject-matter expert (SME) for Redfish API testing and automation strategy.
- Support the internal engineering and quality teams with Redfish schema interpretation and conformance validation.
- Conduct technical workshops or training sessions to build internal capability on Redfish, Robot Framework, and HIL integration.
4. Proposal and Documentation Support
- Contribute to technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and proposal content describing the automation approach, validation process, and delivery methodology.
- Help the team align with industry standards and communicate technical credibility in client-facing materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Deep expertise in DMTF Redfish standards, including schemas, profiles, extensions, and conformance tools.
- Proven experience implementing automated test frameworks for embedded or networked devices.
- Hands-on proficiency with Robot Framework, Python, and API test automation.
- Strong understanding of embedded system communication protocols, HIL setups, and secure device management.
- Knowledge of CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI) and test reporting integration.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Redfish-based device validation or data center / OEM testing environments.
- Background in embedded firmware testing, IoT automation, or network management APIs.
- Familiarity with REST API design, security standards, and test data generation for hardware systems.
- Prior consulting or client-facing technical leadership experience.
Engagement Model: Flexible consulting or project-based role, with the potential for ongoing collaboration during both design and implementation phases.
