Applications Engineer
Overview
The Applications Engineer will provide technical expertise to design, implement, and optimize machinery and equipment solutions for fabrication processes. This role requires hands-on experience with electrical schematics, PLC programming, and motion/control systems, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to ensure machine performance meets production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of machine applications for new and existing fabrication equipment.
- Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC systems and HMI interfaces to meet functional requirements.
- Design, update, and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for production machinery.
- Work directly with customers to understand application requirements and provide tailored technical solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to adapt machine designs for optimized performance and manufacturability.
- Conduct machine validation, commissioning, and operator training to ensure successful implementation.
- Evaluate existing equipment and processes to identify areas for improvement or upgrade.
- Participate in the product lifecycle from concept and prototyping through production support.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred).
- 3+ years of experience with PLC programming and machine control applications.
- Proficiency in electrical design and schematic tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar).
- Experience with motion control systems, including actuators, drives, motors, and sensors.
- Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and implement solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with customers and internal teams.
- Experience with Sysmac Studio or other PLC programming platforms preferred.
- Ability to read and create 2D/3D mechanical drawings is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year

- IDE: 2 years (Preferred)
- PLC Program Creation: 4 years (Required)
- 2D/3D Modelng: 4 years (Preferred)
