Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Marketing Strategy and Communications to lead the transformation of their marketing function into a true strategic growth driver. This role will own brand, go-to-market strategy, sales enablement, and executive communications—most notably leading the 2026 national launch of a new insurance services brokerage.
This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, strategic B2B marketing leader in the insurance or financial services space who thrives in a lean, collaborative environment. The AVP of Marketing will report directly to the President & CEO and partner closely with the AVP of Sales to define value propositions, build adoption strategies, and modernize communications across multiple lines of business.

Our client is the only private deposit insurance alternative for U.S. credit unions, serving as a trusted partner for nearly 90 credit unions and protecting approximately $20 billion in insured deposits. Through its subsidiary, the company also provides excess share insurance coverage above federal limits to nearly 380 credit unions across 37 states.
As the organization continues to grow and prepare for the launch of a new insurance services program by March 2026, they’re expanding their leadership team to bring in a dedicated marketing strategist who can define the brand’s value proposition, strengthen client engagement, and lead high-impact initiatives across the credit union ecosystem.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with company objectives and growth goals.
- Define and lead the brand strategy, messaging, and positioning for multiple business lines.
- Lead the go-to-market plan and communications strategy for the 2026 launch of the new insurance services brokerage.
- Partner with Sales to build compelling value propositions and enablement tools that drive adoption and retention.
- Oversee digital marketing, content, social media, and trade show strategy with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Manage corporate and executive communications, including board-level materials, public relations, and thought leadership.
- Use data and customer insights to refine strategy, improve engagement, and guide marketing investment.
- Coach and mentor a Marketing & Design Specialist to ensure consistent voice, visual standards, and campaign execution.
- Collaborate with leadership across Operations, Finance, and IT to support organizational priorities.
- Manage department budget, vendor relationships, and sponsorship agreements.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership, including 5+ years in a senior or executive role.
- Experience leading B2B marketing in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Proven success with product launches, brand positioning, and go-to-market strategy.
- Strong writing and executive communication skills, including board-facing or C-suite materials.
- Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and lead with both strategy and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to do more with less—comfortable in lean, collaborative environments.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with the credit union ecosystem or financial regulatory landscape.
- Experience with trade show/event strategy, CRM or marketing automation tools.
- Player-coach leadership style; adept at mentoring junior team members.
