Job Summary
World Services is seeking a Systems Architect (Computer Systems Analyst) for a federal client to provide advanced systems analysis, architecture design, and integration support across enterprise IT environments. The Architect defines, develops, and optimizes secure, scalable system architectures to ensure interoperability, reliability, and performance across multiple HR applications and data platforms. This role drives modernization initiatives, aligns technical solutions with business goals, and ensures all systems adhere to federal security and lifecycle standards.
Key Responsibilities
Core Functional Duties
- Perform advanced systems analysis and architectural design to enhance integration, functionality, and performance of enterprise IT solutions.
- Design and develop APIs, ensuring secure and reliable data exchange across platforms using REST, SOAP, and related protocols.
- Demonstrate proficiency in integration and API management tools such as MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Swagger, and Postman.
- Work across heterogeneous environments, including legacy and cloud-based systems, to integrate applications and services.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and infrastructure limitations to optimize system operations.
- Develop enterprise-level strategies for software, hardware, and network optimization and alignment.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural blueprints that guide system development.
- Design enterprise architectures that ensure scalability, interoperability, and secure data flow between internal and external systems.
- Evaluate and recommend COTS products, software frameworks, and architectural improvements compatible with enterprise standards.
- Review and refine system workflows, automation processes, and data-exchange mechanisms to improve efficiency and reduce technical debt.
System Design and Integration
- Lead system-architecture design reviews to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical execution.
- Develop system specifications, interface definitions, and integration strategies that connect HR and enterprise applications.
- Support modernization and migration of legacy systems into secure, service-oriented or cloud-based environments.
- Oversee API development and management using secure frameworks such as MuleSoft or equivalent platforms.
- Define and maintain architectural diagrams, data flows, and interoperability frameworks to support full lifecycle management.
System Performance, Security, and Modernization
- Support infrastructure modernization and system conversion activities, including technology refresh planning and implementation.
- Ensure system compliance with cybersecurity, accessibility, and performance standards.
- Analyze system telemetry, monitoring outputs, and automation processes to improve stability and scalability.
- Coordinate with developers, database administrators, and IT operations to maintain consistent configurations and system baselines.
- Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance to cross-functional development teams.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience in systems analysis, architecture, or enterprise integration.
- Demonstrated expertise in API design and development using REST, SOAP, and secure data exchange protocols.
- Proficiency with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Swagger, Postman, and GitHub for API management and development collaboration.
- Strong working knowledge of PHP, Java, SQL, and Lucee ColdFusion in integrated enterprise environments.
- Proven experience designing and managing architectures across legacy, virtualized, and cloud-based systems.
- Ability to assess and optimize system performance, scalability, and interoperability.
- Experience evaluating and integrating COTS and open-source solutions into enterprise architectures.
- Excellent communication skills to translate business needs into technical architecture and actionable development requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; equivalent professional experience may be substituted.
