ProTrustee is seeking a full-stack software engineer. This is a full-time role; we prefer candidates who can work in our Charleston, SC office several days per week, though we will consider exceptional remote candidates.

Responsibilities and expectations
• Build and ship product features: deliver across the stack with an emphasis on reliability, usability, and performance
• Data model and persistence: design and evolve relational schemas; Postgres experience is a plus
• Back-end development: implement REST APIs using TypeScript and NodeJS
• Front-end development: build responsive, accessible UIs in React
• Practice sound engineering: write tests (unit/integration), review code, and document decisions
• Security by default: apply secure coding practices and stay current on security best practices
• Monitor and operate in production: add logging, metrics, and alerting; debug issues and drive root-cause fixes
• Collaborate on product direction: contribute to ideation, scoping, and prioritization
Qualifications
• Experience: 2–5 years of professional software development experience (or equivalent), with a track record of consistently shipping high-quality production code
• Languages and stack: strong with TypeScript/NodeJS; familiarity with React
• APIs: experience building REST-based services
• Data: experience designing relational data models; Postgres is a plus
• DevOps awareness: familiarity with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and monitoring tools is a plus
• Mindset: strong work ethic, product-oriented, and comfortable working independently
