Our North American branch was established in 2018 and our team is growing quickly. We're looking for a Quality Engineer to support product testing, validation, and continuous improvement of Janitza's electrical meters and embedded systems. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow in the power monitoring field through hands-on engineering and collaboration.
Who You Are
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will join our team in Ashburn, VA.
As a Quality Engineer, you will support the Quality and Engineering teams in ensuring that Janitza's electrical products meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. You will assist in testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of products throughout their lifecycle from prototype validation to production release.
This position is ideal for a motivated electrical engineer who enjoys hands-on testing, problem-solving, and learning from experienced engineers in the power monitoring field.
What You'll Do
Quality Process Support
- Ensure test data is accurately recorded and communicated.
- Help maintain calibration of test benches and electrical measurement tools.
- Participate in product qualification and certification processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for testing efficiency and accuracy.
Technical Collaboration
- Work closely with the Quality Manager and Engineers to address test failures and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with global QA teams and share insights to improve product robustness.
- Support documentation updates related to quality standards, test protocols, and configuration management
- Assist in failure analysis and root cause investigations for RMA or field returned devices.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 25% to oversee projects and maintain quality standards.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in hardware testing, product validation, or quality assurance (internship or project experience accepted).
- Familiarity with electrical measurement tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, current transformers).
- Basic understanding of embedded systems and firmware testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
- Team oriented with a proactive attitude.
