Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems, components, and equipment. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software and engineering tools
- Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards
- Produce technical drawings, specifications, repair procedures, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to support production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct prototype testing, collect data, and evaluate product performance
- Research new materials, methods, and technologies to enhance product performance and efficiency
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company and industry standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred for select roles)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus, but not required
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CREO, AutoCAD, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude; familiar with manual and power hand tools
- Skilled in data collection using micrometers, calipers, and measuring tape
- Comfortable working at heights and physically capable of operating scissors lifts and boom lifts
- Willingness to travel throughout the Midwest region
