PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Sr Mortgage HELOC/Refi Marketing Manager at our San Antonio, Texas or Tysons, Virginia location. The Senior Manager, Mortgage HELOC/Refinance Marketing will lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy for specific segments of home buyers seeking to leverage their home's equity with a HELOC product and those seeking to refinance an existing mortgage. The mortgage business originates these segments year-around but is highly susceptible to rate drop conditions and must be prepared to re-capture those members, as well as attract new financers to PenFed.
This role will be responsible for developing the strategy and go-to-market plan, as well as launching and operationalizing full-funnel marketing support for specific HELOC and Refinance marketing opportunities with a focus on driving mortgage lead volume. As the architect of this strategy, you will own the always-on marketing, as well as tasked with developing rate drop campaigns requiring quick-turns and speed-to-market. This role will collaborate with a cross-functional team, including PenFed Loan Product, Secondary Marketing, Sales, Loan Originations teams, Corporate (non-Mortgage) Marketing, IT, Legal, Compliance, Change Management, Enterprise Marketing, and internal or external marketing agencies.

- Leads the overall product marketing strategy for Mortgage HELOC and Refinance, including B2C go-to-market strategies and communication touchpoints for any new product offerings or promotions.
- Incorporates consumer, member, and sales insights, as well as competitive research and campaign results to support proposed strategies.
- Drives ongoing marketing support and optimization across channels including digital media (paid search, organic search, penfed.org, social media, email, digital out of home) and traditional direct mail, partnerships, sponsorships, events/experiences, and promotions to deliver on business goals.
- Collaborates with cross functional teams, including creative teams (internal and external agencies), digital experience, PenFed.org, paid digital, procurement, operations, product, business controls, compliance and legal to ensure consistency, accuracy and alignment on all efforts.
- Conduct meetings, presentations, webinars, taskforces, and marketing communications for product marketing initiatives and assigned projects.
- Contributes to the annual campaign calendar for PenFed Mortgage, including deployment dates, messaging, and testing to align with business KPIs and allocated budget.
- Manages the marketing budget related to HELOC and Refinance Mortgage marketing activities; requests additional funding as needed to support initiatives.
- Overseas, manages and directs the associated budget and ensures alignment with PenFed branding, as well as full reporting on campaign effectiveness; works with a roster of agencies, including our agency, WHITE64, on creative featuring PenFed.
- Continuously assesses campaign results to drive decision-making and marketing recommendations.
- Intakes data and insights from multiple groups and sources to distill into actionable offers and plans that meet members and market needs.
- Ensures pricing, promotional, and compliance/legal changes are reflected in marketing materials across channels.
- Work with the marketing, business analytics and campaign analytics teams to craft criteria for campaigns as well as compare results to projected key performance metrics (KPIs)
- Presents marketing plans to various internal stakeholders, including the marketing, product, analytics and management teams.
- Monitors the market for current product and regional marketing creative as well as promotional offers.
- Helps the Marketing team to develop and optimize offers and fulfillment processes to ensure a positive membership and prevent regulatory concerns.
- Demonstrates ability to make data-driven decisions while considering the member needs and mindset.
- Take feedback from other teams in an objective manner and incorporate into overall strategy as necessary.
- Assists with other product marketing projects as needed.
- Travels/attends PenFed sponsored events which require support.

Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.
- Demonstrated experience in building integrated, go-to-market marketing campaigns that leverage digital and traditional marketing, with an emphasis on B2C channels (paid and organic search, social media, email, video, and direct mail).
- Demonstrated marketing & strategic analysis skills with an ability to map an understanding of business drivers.
- Expertise in product marketing strategy and project management principles and practices.
- Strong writer and ability to build presentations, strong leadership skills, with ability to lead meetings and present to senior level management and ability to conduct research, report on findings.
- Excellent communications, conflict management, and negotiation skills.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be an enthusiastic team player.
- Self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in financial services or highly regulated industry a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees.
Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
