Department Overview
Operations is comprised of two separate departments, each with distinct roles and responsibilities to ensure the proper segregation of duties. The Settlement and Funding Team is responsible for the pre-closing process including deal and fee structure, trade activity, document management, KYC and settlement coordination. Portfolio Administration is responsible for the booking of deals, daily servicing activity such as payment processing, advances and rate resets, as well as the maintenance of referential data. Operations play a pivotal role in the data integrity of the investment portfolios. The teams collaborate closely with many other areas of the Firm including the Front Office, Treasury, Tax and Fund Accounting.
Position Responsibilities
The Operations Intern primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support monthly Operations close processes
• Assist with cash wire creation and input to banking portals
• Compile Operations metrics for quarterly leadership meetings / reporting
• Provide operational support to team members, as needed
• Help with workflow diagramming and process mapping leveraging MS Visio
• Help create training materials for team training
• Ad-hoc projects and requests
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
• Junior attending local university interested in financial services
• Working knowledge / proficiency with Excel
• Ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and priorities under pressure and meet deadlines
• Highly collaborative nature and able to work independently or on a team
• Strong communication, analytical and detail-orientation skills
• Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture
Additional Information
• Interns have a 40-hour-per-week assignment that last 10 weeks (June 1st - August 7th)
• Hybrid work schedule (required to be in office a minimum of 3 days a week)
• Housing assistance will be available for eligible candidates
• Hourly pay: $25

• Portfolio Administration: Manages daily processing related to agented and non-agented deals (e.g., rollovers, advances, credits, wire requests) for a portfolio and ensures cash is reconciled with loan accounting group.
