The Social Agency is a New York–based, social-first creative agency helping luxury and premium e-commerce brands build aspirational, high-performing social media presences. We manage content creation and strategy end-to-end — from concept to production to delivery — for clients in the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle space.
We’re looking for a Social Media Creative Strategist to join our growing team. This role blends social strategy, creative direction, and hands-on production. You’ll concept, plan, and create high-performing short-form content (both behind and in front of the camera) that reflects our clients’ elevated aesthetics and drives performance on social.
This is a highly collaborative role working directly under our Founder & Creative Director and alongside our social media managers and content team.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead monthly creative strategy and planning for client content: brainstorming, developing, and refining iPhone-captured short-form video and photo concepts that align with each brand’s goals and aesthetic.
- Research trends and insights to bring fresh, performance-driven ideas to every shoot.
- Collaborate with account managers to determine shoot priorities and prepare detailed shoot briefs with creative references.
- Coordinate models, locations, wardrobe, and logistics for each shoot to ensure seamless production.
- Oversee shoot execution across clients: directing talent, managing the shoot flow, and ensuring every concept is captured efficiently and with a refined, luxury feel.
- Participate actively in shoots both behind and in front of the camera by capturing and appearing in content for our fashion, beauty, and lifestyle clients.
- Edit short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, etc.), applying an eye for pacing, sound, and storytelling that reflects each client’s visual identity and brand voice.
- Work closely with our Founder and Social Media Managers to ensure creative excellence and alignment across all accounts.
- Assist with content calendars for clients as needed.
- Run monthly creative calls with clients alongside account managers to discuss content performance, align on strategy, and plan the upcoming month’s creative direction.

Your background:
- 2+ years of experience in a creative, production, or content role at an agency or brand (required)
- Hands-on experience creating content for fashion and beauty brands
- Experience leading or working as part of creative teams or projects with high visual standards.
- Proven understanding of how to capture elevated social-first content for fashion and beauty brands through portfolio work
- Extremely comfortable both on camera and directing others behind it
- Independent, detail-oriented, and extremely organized with strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Based in NYC and excited to be on set, in the studio, or out shooting around the city several days a week.
