Summary:
Responsible for evaluating and performing detailed design on heat transfer equipment and designing thermal models for performing heat transfer calculations. Work closely with the Design Group and Engineering team to ensure Customer specifications and Company standards are met; and provide required documentation on each customer project.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the overall original heat transfer equipment design and perform the detailed design for the heat transfer equipment.
- Work closely with Project Engineer on equipment design to meet customer specifications and Company standards, resolving any issues that do not meet requirements.
- Design thermal models for performing heat transfer calculations and 3-D solid models for use in fluid flow modeling.
- Perform fluid flow, heat transfer, vibration, and acoustic calculations following project schedule set by Project Engineer.
- Analyze and perform calculations on field data to identify and recommend equipment modifications that will meet Customer needs.
- Write specifications for duct burners, expansion joints, catalysts, fans, and pumps and other related boiler auxiliary equipment.
- Create Operations and Maintenance Manuals for each job project and equipment inspection; write engineering study reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues to solve design issues and work with project teams to share information that aids in equipment design.
- Travel to job sites for troubleshooting, performance testing or equipment inspections.
Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer is essential to perform essential job functions.
- Familiarity with ASME Section I and/or Section VIII Codes.
- Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
- Technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records: Intermediate MS Office, Basic MS Outlook, and MRP systems.
Education:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering in-process required
- Equivalent experience considered
Experience:
- 0 to 3 years experience required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
