We’re a fast-growing, multi-state environmental services and recycling company seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to own all financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and system integrity across our expanding operations.

What You’ll Do
- Monthly Close: Deliver accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow—on time, every time.
- Financial Controls: Track AR/AP/inventory, safeguard working capital, and maintain tight bank covenants.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Build rolling forecasts and variance reports that keep leadership informed.
- Cost Discipline: Audit expenses line by line, negotiate vendor costs, and protect profit margins.
- Team Leadership: Manage a growing accounting team (Lead Accountant, AR, AP, and remote staff).
- Systems & Automation: Maintain and refine chart of accounts, entity setups, and ERP integrations.
- Compliance: Oversee payroll, sales/fuel tax, and multi-state filings — with zero errors.
- M&A Integration: Reconcile opening balance sheets, align controls, and fold new acquisitions into our systems.
- Banking & Payments: Execute payments with precision and manage account reconciliations.
- Fleet Cost Analysis: Track truck expenses by asset number, calculate cost per mile, and guide quarterly divestment decisions.
- Profitability Reporting: Analyze per-customer profitability and support data-driven pricing updates.
What You Bring
- 6–10 years of accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a Senior Level Controller role.
- At least 3 years in public accounting and 3 years in private/industry.
- Background in multi-location service, logistics, manufacturing, or waste management.
- Strong systems knowledge: QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Excel modeling, payroll, ERP integrations.
- Experience with M&A reconciliation, working capital, and control setup.
- Proven success leading accounting teams and driving process improvement.
- CPA license preferred.
- Trusted experience as a bank account signer and systems administrator.
