- Experience eliciting, analyzing, validating, and documenting detailed business, operational, and system requirements
- Ability to understand business partner and stakeholder needs to ensure alignment of solutions with organizational objectives
- Experience analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and translating them into actionable business and/or system solutions
- Strong communication skills to verify and gain approval of requirements from stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to project documentation including project plans, estimates, readiness, and defect management
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Experience documenting business workflows
- Skilled in facilitating detailed working sessions to map connective processes
- Experience preparing for new system implementations
- Ability to translate requirements into standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training guides
- Experience in procurement or third-party risk management
Business Consultant Overview
The Business Consultant is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements to support organizational goals and initiatives. Working under general supervision, this role partners with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, define solutions, and ensure project deliverables meet business needs. The Business Consultant will collaborate across teams to translate user needs into functional specifications, validate process improvements, and support successful system implementations. This position requires strong analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills, as well as the ability to adapt to dynamic business priorities.
Job Duties
- Elicit, analyze, validate, and document detailed business and system requirements
- Understand and align stakeholder and organizational needs with proposed solutions
- Analyze business and user requirements to develop effective process improvements
- Communicate, verify, and obtain approval for requirements from stakeholders
- Develop or modify procedures to address moderately complex business problems
- Contribute to project plans, estimates, readiness reviews, and defect management activities
- Facilitate working sessions and document workflows to improve operational efficiency
- Support the creation of SOPs and training materials for new systems and processes

- Experience with procurement or third-party risk management is preferred
