Title: Merchant Cash Advance Underwriter (Experienced)

Job Summary

EZ Capital Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Underwriter with strong risk identification and proactive research capabilities to join our team, focusing exclusively on the Restaurant and Food Service sector.

You will be responsible for in-depth, structured credit evaluation of MCA applications, with a critical focus on the nuances of U.S. domestic restaurant operations, revenue cycles, and specific industry risks.

The core of this role is leveraging specialized industry knowledge to balance risk and opportunity, making high-quality, data-supported decisions, and proactively optimizing underwriting guidelines based on sector-specific outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Risk Assessment & Decision Making

Sector-Specific Financial Analysis: Expertly analyze business bank statements, tax documents, and other financials, with a keen understanding of restaurant cash flow patterns (e.g., seasonality, fluctuating daily receipts) to determine true repayment capacity.
Proactive Risk Tracing & Fraud Detection: Possess the habit of spotting "red flags" and proactively conducting deep research, specifically assessing risks unique to the food service industry (e.g., changes in ownership/concept, excessive third-party delivery service dependence).
U.S. Regulatory Compliance & Market Assessment: Evaluate the applicant's compliance and standing within the U.S. market, ensuring decisions align with the risk landscape for U.S.-based food service financing. The necessity of this U.S. focus remains crucial for a U.S.-based lending operation.

2. Process Optimization & Compliance

Guideline Structuring & Optimization: Based on daily underwriting case results, default data analysis, and market changes, propose and implement structural modifications and adjustments to underwriting guidelines, ensuring optimizations are data-supported.
Continuous Compliance: Strictly adhere to company policies, MCA industry regulations (e.g., Truth-in-Lending, Usury Laws), and anti-fraud measures.
Continuous Learning & Knowledge Update: Continuously learn U.S. domestic industry knowledge and trends (especially in the Restaurant/Food Service sector), and integrate the latest industry insights into risk assessment models and guidelines.

3. Collaboration & Communication

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Balance: Collaborate closely with Sales and Risk Management teams to find the optimal balance between business growth and risk control, jointly optimizing approval rates and minimizing default rates.
Effective Communication: Communicate underwriting requirements, decision rationales, and risk clarifications in a professional and clear manner to brokers, merchants, and internal stakeholders.
Requirement Confirmation: Accurately understand and confirm business department needs regarding underwriting processes and guidelines, and translate them into actionable optimizations.

Qualifications & Skills

Finance/Economis academic background
Experience: 2+ years of hands-on underwriting experience in MCA, small business lending, alternative lending, or commercial banking, with the ability to make independent funding decisions.
Industry Expertise strongly preferred: In-depth, demonstrated knowledge of Restaurant/Food Service operations and revenue cycles is STRONGLY PREFERRED.
Language Proficiency: Bilingual in English and Chinese is required, proficient in both written and verbal communication.
Professional Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of MCA industry regulations and U.S. domestic financial compliance (e.g., KYB, KYC, Truth-in-Lending).

Core Skills:

Proactive Research Ability: Possesses a strong habit and capability to proactively discover and continuously trace risks.
Analysis & Judgment: Excellent ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, and balance risk and reward.
Structured Thinking: Ability to translate practical experience into structured underwriting guideline optimization recommendations.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in underwriting tools, especially Excel (advanced usage); familiarity with various data analysis and risk control systems is a plus.
Industry Preference: Knowledge of operations and revenue cycles in the Restaurant/Food Service industry is a plus.
