Job Description – Client Services Associate/Wealth Management Associate
HAZLETT BURT & WATSON, INC is an SEC Registered Investment Advisor and Securities Broker-Dealer that provides professional investment advice and comprehensive financial services to our clients and their families. We have an immediate opening for a Wealth Management Associate (WMA) and/or candidate in our Vienna, WV Office. The WMA is often the first point of contact with clients on a broad array of services related to account servicing, financial plans and investment portfolios. Under the direction of the Financial Advisor, the WMA is an integral member of the advisory team and is responsible for delivering a consistent, positive client experience to help ensure all commitments are completed and delivered in a timely manner.
Work responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Client relations/Client Support
Conducts proactive outreach to clients - organize, streamline and enhance a client experience that emphasizes value, service and attention to detail. May participate in client meetings with lead advisor.
Preparing meeting materials, following up with clients, and handling client transactions. Manage account activities that are operational in nature – new accounts, cash management, transfers, and account maintenance (e.g., establishing new accounts, client distributions)
- Business Development/Client Education
Establish trusting relationships with new and existing clients, proactively helping them understand their investments and planning strategies, with guidance and input from lead advisor
Assist lead advisor in the development and delivery of financial and investment strategies that aim to address each client’s financial situation, specific goals and concerns
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- Education and/or experience
- 5+ years of work experience in a field relevant to the position preferred
- Four-year college degree or professional certification preferred
- Active Series SIE, Series 7 and Series 66 Industry Licenses or ability to achieve within 6 months
- Additional product licenses may be required

- Enjoys working with people and problem solving
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Office experience including Excel spreadsheets
- Strong knowledge of financial industry and investment products
- Ability to work independently and effectively on a team
- Demonstrate leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced evolving environment
- Understanding of applicable compliance rules, regulations and firm policies
Competitive Compensation – Base Pay Starting at $45,000 and higher depending on experience and/or licensing
However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation and discretionary bonuses.
