Job Title: Field Service Technician (Senior BDA/DAS Lead Technician)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior BDA/DAS Lead Technician to manage and execute complex Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) installations. This role is critical for ensuring compliance, carrier-grade quality, and timely completion of Public Safety (ERCES/ERRCS) and Commercial Cellular projects. You will serve as the on-site technical authority and mentor, guiding junior technicians and enforcing best practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Mastery & Quality Assurance
- Lead commissioning, integration, and optimization of multi-carrier and public safety BDA/DAS systems (CommScope, ADRF, SOLiD, JMA, etc.).
- Perform and analyze PIM, Sweep/VSWR, and OTDR measurements using specialized equipment (Anritsu Site Master, PCTEL analyzers, JDSU).
- Resolve complex RF coverage, fiber optic, and head-end equipment issues.
- Ensure adherence to NFPA 72, 1221, 1225, IFC, NEC, and AHJ requirements.
- Read and validate iBwave design files and construction schematics.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and train junior technicians on installation techniques, safety, and troubleshooting.
- Lead daily on-site operations, manage resources, and enforce QA checks.
- Educate team on Public Safety code updates and compliance documentation.
Documentation & Communication
- Prepare final project documentation, including test results, commissioning reports, and red-line drawings.
- Act as primary technical interface for Project Managers, RF Engineers, and AHJ representatives.
Essential Qualifications
- 10+ years in BDA/DAS installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Required Certifications:
- NICET In-Building Public Safety (IB-PCS) Level II or higher.
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Card.
- OEM certification on at least two major BDA/DAS platforms (CommScope, SOLiD, ADRF, JMA).
- Preferred Certifications: Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing, OEM Level Certifications (Comba, ADRF, SOLiD, JMA).
- Expert in RF and fiber testing (Sweep/PIM/OTDR).
- Proven track record leading field teams and providing technical training.
