Job Description
The Bose Corporate Strategy team helps shape the future of the company. You’ll work with executives and leaders across the business to identify strategic priorities, analyze problems and opportunities, and make insightful, data-driven recommendations. We help define portfolio direction, create enterprise and business unit strategies, catalyze innovation, and shape the long-term vision. We deliver impactful work based on a deep knowledge of customers, the business, and external market factors.

About The Role
In this role, you will work as a key member of the Research Labs Catalyst Team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional strategy skills along with direct experience in technology innovation and commercializing new ventures. You will be part of a small, nimble team that also includes technical research professionals and commercial leaders. As a team you will be responsible for identifying, pitching, and shaping high-potential innovation opportunities, advancing early-stage proof-of-concept experiments, testing hypotheses, and making business investment recommendations. As the team strategy lead, you will apply analytical and critical thinking as well as creativity and intuition to imagine breakthrough opportunities to solve important customer problems through technical innovation. You must thrive on ambiguity, hard problem solving, and the art of the possible.
You will bring a high level of skill, relevant experience, and organizational awareness to complex problem solving, often in highly ambiguous situations. To be successful, you’ll need to be an independent thinker as well as a strong team player who can tackle difficult problems with tenacity and an open mind. You will be expected to scope and lead projects and work directly with leaders and teams across the company, often with little direct supervision. This is a high-visibility role with career growth potential.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with stakeholders and other team members to identify, scope, and prioritize work within a portfolio framework
- Gather data from relevant sources and stakeholders, identify the key issues and strategy questions, develop hypotheses, lead problem solving
- Conduct rigorous analysis using primary and secondary research
- Use strategy frameworks to structure complex data and facilitate understanding and decision making
- Lead workshops and problem-solving sessions
- Construct business cases; model alternative scenarios as needed; collaborate with others as needed
- Create and deliver concise, impactful presentations to stakeholders, including senior executives
- Help lead monthly project reviews and quarterly portfolio business reviews
- Develop subject matter/domain expertise in relevant technology and market areas
- Foster best practices and advance the team’s capabilities and learnings through continuous improvement
- Participate in peer reviews of other projects; contribute thoughtful critique and challenge thinking to strengthen the work and help ensure the team produces unbiased insights and high-quality recommendations
- Build strong working relationships with executives, colleagues, and senior leaders throughout the company
- As needed, support the Business Development and Corporate Development teams to identify and analyze potential targets and conduct due diligence
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in strategy consulting and/or directly relevant strategy experience in technology and innovation
- Prior experience working in a technology startup, incubator, growth-stage venture, or corporate research lab setting, or equivalent experience in applying strategy to corporate technology and innovation investments
- Prior experience in audio, consumer electronics, digital media, or a related technology field is a definite plus
- Undergraduate degree in a business or technical discipline; MBA strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic problem solving, conceptual thinking, logic, and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information to draw insights and conclusions
- Excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills
- Well-rounded business acumen with a solid understanding of financial concepts and ability to construct and analyze business plans and models
- Great interpersonal skills and situational awareness, active listening, and the ability to create influence without authority; must be able to work effectively with diverse teams at all levels
- Team oriented, an energetic self-starter with a positive attitude and good judgment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and often against tight deadlines in a dynamic environment; able to juggle multiple projects at once
- Strong “owner mindset” with accountability for results

The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of Framingham, Massachusetts is: $151,000-$207,550.The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.
