Job Description
Maglev is looking for fast-paced enthusiastic, motivated, and collaborative interns who have a drive to learn and will specialize in electrical and aerospace engineering. They will work under the direction of a lead engineer to develop and implement project deliverables. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of electrical, and aerospace engineering projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Implementation: Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of electrical and control system prototypes.
- Wiring & Integration: Perform hands-on work with wiring harnesses, component soldering, crimping, and electrical system assembly to ensure robust and clean integration.
- System Debugging: Actively participate in the troubleshooting and debugging of complex integrated systems, including hardware, software, and communication failures.
- Communication Protocol Work: Work with and debug various communication protocols, such as SPI, I2C, UART (Serial), CAN Bus, or Ethernet, to ensure reliable data transfer between microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and thorough technical documentation for all designs, experiments, and testing procedures.
Qualifications
- Academic Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related technical field.
- Hands-On Electrical Skills: Demonstrated experience with electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
- Microcontroller & Programming: Experience working with common microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, STM32, ESP32).
- Basic understanding of classical control theory and experience implementing control algorithms.
- Experience in university or competitive engineering teams such as SAE Aero, SAE Auto, Formula SAE, Design Build Fly, AIAA competitions, or similar
Bonus:
Robotics/Drone Experience: Previous involvement in drone design, building, programming, or participation in robotics competitions is a significant advantage.
