Lakeside HR Group is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven HR leader who thrives on solving complex people challenges and guiding organizations through growth and change. As an HR Consultant at Lakeside, you will partner directly with business leaders across diverse industries, deliver high-impact HR solutions, and play a key role in strengthening and expanding Lakeside’s consulting offerings.
You’ll work with variety, autonomy, and purpose—supporting clients through critical decisions, building strong partnerships, and helping organizations elevate their culture, performance, and HR infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Lakeside clients, providing expert guidance on talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, organizational development, compensation/benefits, and compliance.
- Conduct HR assessments and audits; develop tailored strategies and action plans to address client needs.
- Design and implement HR programs and initiatives aligned with clients’ strategic goals.
- Advise on complex HR issues, including grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Partner with clients on workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for HR teams and leaders across a range of HR topics and best practices.
- Stay current on HR trends, employment regulations, and best practices, advising clients accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through communication, responsiveness, and exceptional service.
- Participate in business development efforts, including client prospecting, proposals, and presentations.
- Mentor and coach junior HR consultants to support their development and strengthen Lakeside’s consulting team.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
- 5 years of HR consulting or strategic HR experience supporting diverse clients.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment regulations.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that improve organizational performance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence leaders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple engagements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
- Ability to travel as needed.
