Our client is a specialty chemical manufacturing company serving many industries worldwide, including coatings and adhesives, construction, automotive etc.
We are looking for a Cost Accountant (SAP FICO Experience) to join our client’s team in Jersey City. This is an onsite role. If you have worked in the manufacturing industry before and have excellent cost accounting skills, we are interested in speaking with you!
This role will be performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports. The responsibilities will include building updated databases and managing cost information to help to maximize the company's profitability.
A successful candidate should have excellent analytical skills and be able to combine different data and perform calculations of profit margins. The client expects you to have experience with the creation of detailed reports to present cost-effective solutions

Responsibilities
- Conduct inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generate reports for senior management
- Plan cycle counts for both raw material and MRO inventories, as well as partner with plant management for annual inventory
- Liaise with auditors for cost/inventory areas
- Classify costs accurately and/or allocate costs across product lines
- Generate PPV reports (Yield Analysis) and analyze findings with plant management
- Review standard costs and update them as appropriate
- Maintain and review the general ledger and reconcile key GL accounts
- Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendors
- Prepare monthly journal entries manually or by initiating transactions through our ERP program
- Review JEs carefully for anomalies and other inconsistencies
- Approval of PO’s and non-PO invoices
- Prepare plant cost report daily and provide weekly feedback to Cost Accounting Manager
- Work on CAPEX projects and provide detailed analysis at month-end
- Prepare the annual budget reports with dept. heads and consolidate for senior management presentation
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports for submission to management
- Other tasks and projects as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or BBA/BS in Finance with accounting courses
- Experience using SAP FI CO module is required, Certifications helpful
- 3- 5 years' experience in cost accounting within process manufacturing is a must
- Experience with the chemical or process flow industry required
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communications skills
- Superior Teamwork skills a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
