Job Summary
The Production Manager oversees the full cycle of holiday décor and botanical design production, from planning and budgeting to execution and post-installation evaluation. This role is responsible for managing workflow, ensuring efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across all seasonal and year-round botanical design projects. While exterior installations are included, they represent a smaller portion of the workload; the primary emphasis is on holiday décor production and interior botanical design. This role requires exceptional leadership, organization, and the ability to translate creative concepts into scalable, successful installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and production processes for all holiday décor and botanical design projects.
- Translate design concepts into actionable production plans, including timelines, workflows, and resource allocation.
- Ensure all installations are executed to brand standards, client expectations, and project specifications.
- Oversee all phases of production projects—from initial planning through execution and teardown—ensuring projects stay on schedule and within scope.
- Create seasonal and annual production calendars, forecasting labor needs, material procurement, and installation timelines.
- Manage designers, production staff, decorators, and seasonal support teams.
- Provide clear direction, coaching, accountability, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative environment where creativity and operational excellence coexist.
- Develop and manage project and seasonal budgets, including labor estimates, materials, inventory, and vendor costs.
- Monitor budgets throughout the production cycle, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Track KPIs such as gross profit margin, production efficiency, and labor utilization.
- Act as the primary liaison between Sales, Design, Operations, and Warehouse to ensure alignment from concept through completion.
- Communicate project expectations, deadlines, and resource needs clearly and proactively.
- Oversee material procurement, inventory tracking, vendor coordination, and contractor assignments.
- Ensure the team has the tools, materials, and staffing required to deliver projects on time.
- Support efficient loading, staging, and installation workflows, especially during peak holiday season.
- Conduct regular quality checks before, during, and after installations.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Create and maintain SOPs for production workflows, inventory management, installation standards, and seasonal preparations.
- Ensure all installations—particularly exterior or large-scale builds—meet safety standards and regulations.
- Promote a safety-first culture across production and install teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Production Management, Interior Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience overseeing design or production projects, ideally within holiday décor, events, interior design, or botanical industries.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
- Familiarity with contractor management and procurement processes.
Working Conditions
- This role is fully in-person.
- Occasional on-site visits to installation locations required.
- Ability to work extended hours—including evenings and weekends—during peak holiday season.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
