Role Overview
We’re looking for a strategic, relationship-driven Head of Partnerships to build, scale, and steward high-impact partnerships that accelerate Carbon’s growth and visibility. This role sits at the intersection of brand, revenue, and community—owning how we identify the right partners, structure meaningful collaborations, and turn relationships into long-term value.
You’ll lead partnership strategy end-to-end: from sourcing and negotiation to activation, measurement, and renewal. The ideal candidate brings sharp judgment, strong executive presence, and a bias toward action—someone who understands how partnerships drive business outcomes, not just goodwill.
As a senior leader, you’ll shape how Carbon shows up externally and ensure our partnerships meaningfully support our mission, growth goals, and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute partnership strategy aligned with Carbon’s business objectives, brand positioning, and growth targets.
- Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic relationships across corporations, nonprofits, government entities, creators, and community organizations.
- Lead negotiations for partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and collaborations—structuring clear, mutually beneficial agreements.
- Own partnership activation, ensuring collaborations translate into measurable impact, visibility, and revenue.
- Oversee high-impact events and experiences, including flagship gatherings, partner activations, and key stakeholder moments.
- Manage and optimize CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Mailchimp) to track engagement, performance, and ROI.
- Collaborate with marketing and growth teams to amplify partnerships through digital campaigns, social channels, and email.
- Develop proposals, pitches, and grant applications that clearly articulate value and differentiate Carbon.
- Partner with finance and operations on budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for partnership initiatives.
- Lead external communications and PR efforts related to partnerships, including media engagement and thought leadership.
- Measure success rigorously, reporting on outcomes, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances in a high-growth or brand-driven environment.
- Strong negotiator with a history of structuring complex, high-value agreements.
- Deep expertise in relationship management across senior stakeholders and cross-sector partners.
- Comfort operating CRM and marketing tools (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Strong strategic and analytical skills—able to translate relationships into measurable outcomes.
- Experience with event strategy and execution, from concept through delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal and grant writing.
- Understanding of fundraising, sponsorship models, and partnership economics.
- Ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.
- High ownership mindset with the ability to lead independently and cross-functionally.
Why Carbon
At Carbon, partnerships aren’t transactional—they’re strategic. This role offers the opportunity to shape how we collaborate, grow, and show up in the world. If you’re excited about building meaningful relationships that drive real impact and long-term value, we’d love to meet you.
