This is an ideal opportunity for a talented designer who excels at client consultations, creating high-value proposals, and closing luxury kitchen projects. You will lead design efforts, work directly with clients from concept to final approval, and play a key role in driving company growth through exceptional designs and strong sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth client consultations (in-person and virtual) to understand needs, style preferences, budget, and lifestyle requirements
- Create detailed kitchen designs using industry-standard software (e.g., 20/20, Cabinet Vision, ProKitchen, or similar), including floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, and material/finish selections
- Prepare accurate, professional proposals and quotes that highlight value and craftsmanship
- Present designs to clients, handle revisions, and negotiate and close sales
- Collaborate with production, installation, and operations teams to ensure designs are buildable and delivered flawlessly
- Stay current on kitchen trends, materials, cabinetry innovations, and appliances
- Contribute to showroom presentation and marketing efforts as needed
- Will be responsible for tracking sales, incorporating sales metrics and populating owner reports
- Showroom hours will be 9 am-5 pm Monday through Friday. Saturday’s are typically by appointment, but you will be expected to work Saturday as needed.
- Position will be expected to travel to job-sites for design meetings, production meetings, initial and final measuring. Reimbursement for travel will be supplied monthly with the draw payouts
Compensation
- $40,000-50,000 base salary
- Projected commission would be an additional $60,000-90,000 for above average to high performers
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of professional kitchen design experience, with a proven track record of designing and selling high-end/custom kitchen projects
- Strong portfolio of completed custom kitchen designs (please include samples with application)
- Proficiency in kitchen design software (20/20, Cabinet Vision, SketchUp, etc.) and strong 3D rendering skills
- Deep knowledge of cabinet construction, materials, hardware, countertops, and current design trends
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and sales-driven mindset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (some local travel for client meetings/showroom visits)
- Preferred: NKBA certification, experience in a showroom or custom cabinet environment, and ability to work independently in a small team setting
