CGI Federal is looking for an experienced Technical Architect who will thrive on a highly visible government project and working in a collaborative client environment. You will leverage your technical expertise and ability to define a strategic/technical vision to create an AI-first, AWS cloud-native solution that addresses the client's challenges.
This position is located in Fairfax, VA.
As the Technical Architect and a key member of the project's leadership team, you will spearhead developing and evolving the solution architecture for an enterprise-wide system that will integrate with various federal systems and address challenges such as manual workflows, manual data gathering and manipulation, manual entry and re-entry of data, and multiple disparate systems required to accomplish an activity. You will apply proven expertise to design open source/AWS cloud-native solutions at scale. Your expertise in automation, AWS services, cloud-native development, and DevSecOps will be instrumental in enabling our client to achieve their objectives. You will bring lessons learned and expertise from leading successful large-scale system implementation and modernization efforts. You are adept at partnering directly with clients (including senior-level executives), as well as technical and functional experts/teams to advance the business mission through modern IT solutions. The ideal candidate is focused on delivering client results and using leading-edge technology. You know how to communicate highly technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. You are proactive and thrive in demanding and dynamic client environments.
. Defining system and application architecture, as well as development best practices to be leveraged across development team(s).
. Working with client stakeholders and Agile teams to address technical and business requirements, making recommendations for optimum solution design.
. Collaborating with functional subject matter experts to identify appropriate uses cases for automation, as well as appropriate automation techniques, including AI, RPA, etc.
. Leading Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) to determine the right technology to address a required capability (includes custom, COTS, and hybrid tools/solutions); the ability to clearly articulate recommended tools/approach(es) to CGI and
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Minimum five to eight years' experience architecting and designing large-scale enterprise solutions
. Experience defining the architecture of AWS cloud-deployed applications using microservices and containerization
. Experience leveraging AWS cloud-native services including Bedrock, Strands, S3, Lambda, SQS, OpenSearch, as well as Terraform
. Advanced knowledge/experience in current programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript (including Angular), Python)
. Experience establishing modernization and migration roadmaps for a large ecosystem of integrated applications
. Experience using various automation techniques to automate inefficient, manual processes
. Familiarity with emerging capabilities such agentic and generative AI and the ability to assess and integrate those capabilities
. Experience working in an Agile environment
. Must have strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to clients in plain language, as well as the ability to present well in oral presentations and technical demonstrations
. Familiarity with Federal procurement and acquisition systems desired
. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or ability to obtain certification) desired
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $127,500 - $310,700.
