Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant to support a long-term transformation initiative focused on complex utility billing and Distributed Energy Resources (DER). This role will play a key part in analyzing, configuring, and supporting SAP IS-U Billing solutions across multiple project phases, with a strong focus on specialized tariffs, renewables, and advanced billing scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, configure, and test SAP IS-U Billing functionality across multiple initiatives
- Configure rate structures, billing schemas, pricing, tariffs, and billing master data
- Support Time-of-Use (TOU) rates, Energy Data Management (EDM), and complex billing scenarios
- Work on Net Metering and Aggregate Billing use cases
- Analyze and resolve billing and invoicing issues across integrated systems
- Develop functional specifications for RICEFW objects
- Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment, and post-go-live activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional SMEs across Front Office, Device Management, FICA, BW, and related SAP modules
- Support billing enablement for new products such as renewables, DERs, and emerging utility offerings
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience as a SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant
- Proven experience configuring:
- Rate structures and billing schemas
- Pricing and tariff structures
- Billing master data and bill print
- Experience with TOU rates and EDM
- Experience supporting Net Metering and Aggregate Billing scenarios
- Solid understanding of IS-U billing processes and data model
- Experience integrating IS-U Billing with:
- Device Management
- FICA
- Experience across full project lifecycle:
- Requirements gathering
- Business process design
- SAP configuration
- SIT/UAT support
- Deployment and post-deployment support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work closely with business and technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting Distributed Energy Resources (DER) initiatives
- Exposure to renewable energy billing scenarios such as:
- Distributed solar
- Battery storage
- Demand response (C&I and fleet EVs)
- Experience with complex billing for emerging utility programs
- Prior experience in large utility or energy-sector SAP programs
Project Context
This role supports initiatives related to Distributed Energy Resources (DER), including renewable energy, battery storage, demand response, and advanced load-shaping use cases. The focus is on enabling accurate and complex billing for specialized tariffs driven by customer meter data and evolving energy programs.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
