This position is responsible for project engineering and project management associated with capital and major maintenance projects and supporting the overall natural gas distribution system.
The essential job duties include:
· Perform engineering functions in the design and construction of natural gas distribution facilities including metering, pressure regulator sizing, flow modeling and cost estimates.
· Manage specific capital and maintenance projects including financial planning, scheduling, equipment specification and procurement, contractor interfacing, and development of construction and project documentation.
· Provide technical assistance to support upgrades, expansions or interconnects.
· Ensure engineering standards, methods and practices are in regulatory compliance.
· Represent the Company at pre-construction meetings, including but not limited to meetings with contractors, VDOT, property owners and local permitting jurisdictions.
Requirements:
· B.S. Degree in Engineering from accredited university (Mechanical, Petroleum or Civil preferred)
· Ability to take independent action, seek out opportunities to improve processes and drive projects to completion.
· Ability to learn new tasks quickly and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build successful relationships across all levels of the organization.
· Strong decision-making skills and ability to exercise sound judgment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
· Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
· Prior experience working on the construction of underground utilities.
· Knowledge and expertise of DOT 192.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
