Interior Designer – Custom Cabinetry & Residential Design

Job Summary
MP360 Design + Build is seeking a talented, detail-driven Interior Designer to join our integrated design-build team. This role is ideal for a designer who combines creative vision with strong technical expertise, and who can confidently manage residential interior projects from concept through completion.
The Interior Designer will be responsible for designing high-quality interior environments, with a strong emphasis on custom cabinetry, kitchen and bath design, remodeling, and FF&E specification. This position requires collaboration with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are functional, beautiful, buildable, and delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive interior design concepts that align with client goals, functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and project budgets
- Take accurate field measurements and translate them into detailed design and construction documents
- Create complete construction documentation using AutoCAD and CAD-based tools, including:
- Cabinetry plans and elevations
- Countertop layouts
- Flooring plans
- Door and window schedules
- Stair details
- Electrical and lighting layouts
- Other residential interior components
- Prepare plans, elevations, sections, and specifications using CAD tools and Bluebeam
- Produce 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations using SketchUp or similar software
- Present design concepts, layouts, and selections clearly to clients using visuals, samples, and documentation
- Specify all interior finishes and FF&E, including:
- Custom and semi-custom cabinetry
- Lighting and electrical fixtures
- Countertops and surfaces
- Plumbing fixtures
- Tile, flooring, and hardware
- Appliances
- Own cabinetry scopes from design development through ordering, delivery, and installation coordination
- Coordinate with cabinetry vendors, suppliers, and trade partners to ensure accuracy, quality, and lead-time compliance
- Order, track, and manage all design-related materials to ensure timely delivery to jobsite
- Create and manage project proposals, estimates, and change orders
- Track project progress and documentation using Buildertrend
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during renovation and construction phases to ensure design intent is executed as planned
- Conduct site visits to oversee installations and resolve design or construction-related issues
- Stay current on industry trends, materials, lighting, and innovative design techniques
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design
- Bachelor’s preferred
- Associate’s accepted with relevant experience or certification
- 3–5 years of professional experience in:
- Interior design
- Kitchen & bath design
- Custom cabinetry design
- Residential remodeling or construction
- Proficiency in design and documentation software, including:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- Revit
- Rhinoceros 3D
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator)
- Bluebeam
- Strong drafting skills with a solid understanding of CAD standards and construction documentation
- Knowledge of interior design principles, including:
- Space planning
- Color theory
- Lighting design
- Renovation and remodeling processes
- Experience in project management, including:
- Budgeting
- Scheduling
- Vendor coordination
- Change orders and contract administration
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining organization and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation and client-facing skills
- Understanding of construction practices and coordination with contractors
- Familiarity with lighting sales and lighting specification processes is a plus
- NKBA certification preferred, but not required
