Selection Coordinator / Design Specialist

SCP Construction is a design-build construction company specializing in pools, remodeling, outdoor living, concrete, and interior projects. We are seeking a detail-oriented Selection Coordinator / Design Specialist to support our sales, design, and construction teams while delivering an exceptional client selection experience.
Position Overview
The Selection Coordinator / Design Specialist manages and coordinates all client material selections across multiple project types. This role serves as a key bridge between sales, designers, project management, and the field, ensuring selections are accurate, approved, documented, priced correctly, and delivered on time.
This position is ideal for someone with interior design training who enjoys organization, materials, coordination, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule client selection appointments
- Prepare for and host showroom selection meetings with clients and designers
- Assist with selections including:
- Pool tile, plaster, and coping
- Countertops and cabinetry
- Interior and exterior tile
- Flooring and finish materials
- Paint colors
- Guide selections when no outside designer is involved
- Ensure materials are appropriate for each application (pool-rated, interior, exterior, wet areas)
- Educate clients and internal teams on material limitations and maintenance considerations
- Enter and manage selections in Buildertrend (or similar software)
- Maintain accurate pricing and monitor vendor updates
- Communicate finalized selections to project managers and field teams
- Maintain showroom organization and sample displays
- Coordinate samples, inventory, deliveries, and job-specific material staging
- Act as a communication hub between sales, designers, project management, warehouse, and field teams
Required Qualifications
- Interior design degree, certification, or formal training
- Experience working with or supporting interior designers
- Ability to hand draw design concepts, layouts, or details
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of interior vs exterior materials and finish durability
- Comfort working with high-end clients and designers
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Proficiency with Buildertrend, Excel, or similar software
- Construction or design-build experience preferred

Important Note
This role supports designers and does not replace or compete with them. The designer remains the designer of record—this position exists to assist with coordination, sourcing, documentation, and execution.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
