Position Summary
The Purchasing & Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all procurement, inventory control, and warehouse operations. This role ensures materials and parts are available to support field service, installation, and maintenance operations while maintaining cost efficiency and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing of elevator parts, tools, materials, and equipment.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors and suppliers.
- Oversee warehouse receiving, storage, organization, and inventory accuracy.
- Forecast inventory needs and establish reorder points to avoid downtime.
- Collaborate with service, modernization, and installation teams.
- Supervise warehouse personnel and enforce safety and compliance standards.
- Coordinate with accounting on purchase orders, invoices, and cost tracking.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or warehouse management.
- Experience in elevator, construction, or industrial service environments preferred.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
Compensation & Salary Insight
This position combines strategic purchasing responsibilities with hands‑on warehouse and inventory leadership, which commands a premium in the Indianapolis market.
Base Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Highly experienced candidates with strong ERP systems knowledge, supplier negotiation expertise, and team leadership may earn compensation at or above the top of this range.
In addition to base salary, performance‑based bonuses (typically 5–10% of base pay) tied to inventory accuracy, cost savings, supplier performance, and operational efficiency may be offered. As such, total annual compensation, including bonuses and benefits, can range from approximately $90,000 to $125,000+.
