General Description of the Position’s Function and Purpose
Reports to the Connector Division General Engineering Manager to design and engineer new interconnect products, support sales and marketing, understand customer requirements, and develop quality compliance and standards.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years engineering/design experience within the connector and/or electronics industries. This person will also be comfortable working with both the sales team and customers and possess excellent communication skills.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design and validation of new interconnect products involving various development activities (prototyping, testing, simulations).
- Provide technical support to the Connector Sales team for inquiries related to Connector products and their applications.
- Understand technical trends in the market for new product development.
- Communicate with and support customers regarding engineering and quality issues.
- Compose product specifications, technical and quality reports for customers, as well as technical papers for marketing and standard association activities.
- Generate production control specifications for factories and qualify products
- Maintain support with factories to establish high quality products and production processes.
- Assist internal teams regarding engineering aspects for pricing structures, vender selection and qualification of venders.
- Support and respond to compliance requirements from customers (RoHS, REACH ....).
- Facilitate development of sales objectives, strategies, advertising, promotional programs and ensure their execution and other different tasks as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Company.
- Devote full time, ability, attention, energy and skills in performing all duties as assigned and delegated to you by the Company.
Knowledge/Skills Required by the Job
- Working experience in connector and related electronics industries.
- Mechanical design knowledge and technical and application engineering experience.
- Electrical components design knowledge.
- Quality control.
- Strategic project planning skills.
- Judgment and critical thinking with the ability to analyze complex situations.
- 3D CAD / Mechanical / Electrical / Thermal simulation.

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Experience - Minimum 5 years with some in connector or electronics industries
Other - Background in the processes of product/project total management
Good interpersonal skills to better communicate/interface with Yamaichi personnel from all Departments
Travel includes international as assigned by Upper Management
This position is on-site/not remote

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
