This position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry as either a project engineer or assistant project manager in the construction industry (such as experience at a General Constractor, MEP contractor, construction management firm, or related). You must have a good understanding of the construction process, from pre-construction through project closeout, including a high level of comfort with project documentation, RFIs, bid documents, project monitoring and communicating with on-site and off-site personnel. Candidates with appropriate experience working for GCs, MEP or Construction Management firms will be given preference. An understanding of the role of surety companies in the construction industry is also helpful (but not required).

Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting Project Managers with Construction Consulting assignments
- Communicating with the construction subcontractors/vendors on a day-to-day basis
- Assisting the Project Manager with submittal preparation and reviews, invoicing, scheduling, construction and payment bond claims and engineering tasks
- Assisting the Project Manager with the preparation & update of project cost-to-complete analyses
- Estimating construction completion costs for both payment purposes as well as cost reporting
- Preparing and/or reviewing payment requisitions, change orders and other project documents
- Preparation of bid packages
- Coordinating information with subcontractors/vendors
- Organizing and filing project documents
Main Qualifications & Skills
Position Requires Engineering Degree* (Civil, Construction Management, or Mechanical Preferred) and at least 3 years of relevant experience (such as first-hand experience working as a Project Engineer for a General Contractor, Construction Management firm or Construction Consulting organization).
