Seeking a senior procurement Subject Matter Expert for a short-term advisory engagement assessing outsourcing and automation opportunities across tactical direct and full indirect procurement.
This is a strategic discovery and recommendations role, focused on executive-level insight — not operational delivery.
Ideal Candidate
Background
- Former VP Procurement, Global Procurement Director, or Senior Category Director
- 15+ years procurement experience in:
- Automotive Tier 1 or industrial manufacturing
- Regulated, safety-critical environments
- Direct ownership of:
- Tactical direct procurement (MRP-driven / plant-facing)

- Indirect procurement (IT, MRO, Professional Services, Capex)
Procurement Expertise
- Strong understanding of:
- Tactical buying and production risk
- Supplier continuity and escalation management
- Procurement governance and controls
- Experience with:
- Shared services or procurement BPO models
- Outsourcing or GBS-style assessments
- Sound judgment on what should not be outsourced in manufacturing settings
Systems & Digital Exposure
- Exposure to ERP environments (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle)
- Familiarity with P2P tools (e.g., Coupa)
- Ability to identify automation opportunities conceptually (no technical build required)
Consulting & Stakeholder Skills
- Leads remote discovery workshops
- Engages effectively with:
- Plant operations
- Procurement leadership
- Finance and executive stakeholders
- Strong executive communication and synthesis skills

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
