Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Art Framer and digital printer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art and craftsmanship, along with experience in various framing and printing techniques. This role involves building custom frames, and ensuring that each piece is presented beautifully and securely. The ideal candidate has good experience with Photoshop and using inkjet printers, preferably large format printers. The individual will work closely with clients to understand their vision and deliver high-quality framing and printing solutions.
Duties
- Work with customers to determine their printing needs. Utilize Photoshop, Lightbox and Mirage as needed to work with customers images to prepare for printing. Digital photo restoration is occasionally needed.
- Print on an Epson large format fine art printer. A variety of papers and canvas are utilized.
- Construct custom frames, utilizing specialized tools, tailored to individual artwork specifications.
- Collaborate with clients to select appropriate materials and design elements for their frames.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Staff share cleaning and misc. tasks required
- Art sales.
- Hanging artwork and working evenings for an occasional art opening. Approx. 6-7 per year.
- This is a part time position 16-24 hrs a week. Flexibility to work more during the busy summer season is favored. Some ability to accommodate hours done as partial days. Will need to work approximately every 3rd Saturday.
Experience
- Experience with photoshop is very helpful. Experience with large32 format printers is preferred.
- Hands-on skills in building and constructing frames, cutting glass and mats, mounting artworks using various materials and techniques is preferred.
- Knowledge of various types of artwork and their preservation needs is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Strong customer service skill are needed.
- A keen eye for detail and an appreciation for artistic presentation are essential.
