Summary
We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Engineer to lead product and process engineering for a small, high-mix sheet metal manufacturer. You’ll take projects from concept through production, improve manufacturability and throughput, support quoting and new product introduction, and partner closely with the shop floor to solve design problems fast and raise quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and assign engineering requests to the engineering team
- Provide quotes and costing for new products and product modification requests
- Develop and maintain routings, drawings, setup sheets, and inspection plans as needed
- Diagnose and resolve shop issues with a practical, root-cause approach
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in sheet metal fabrication
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and 2D drawing standards (AutoCAD based)
- Experience with CAM/nesting software and post-processing workflows
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, routings, and costing
