American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a culturally in-tune, highly organized, and social media-savvy Social Media Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes internet culture, has a strong grasp of Gen-Z trends, and is excited to build a career in social media and brand storytelling. As a Social Media Coordinator, you’ll be on the front lines of community engagement, helping us connect with our audience through thoughtful interactions and timely content. You’ll support the social team in planning, reporting, and executing across multiple channels—while helping to monitor and elevate AE’s voice in culture. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the most iconic youth brands in the world. A zest for culture and understanding of trends is critical for success in this role.
What You’ll Do
- Community Engagement: Manage daily interactions across AE’s social platforms, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, YouTube, Snap and more. Respond to tags, comments, and UGC to cultivate brand love while maintaining a witty, Gen-Z-aligned voice. Share audience sentiment and key insights with the broader team to inform strategy.
- Content Support: Assist with planning, scheduling, and posting content; help pivot in real time based on trends and performance. Support in creating static and video by attending IRL events and capturing in store content.
- Performance Insights: Track weekly metrics, highlight wins and opportunities, and share data-driven recommendations to refine strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Paid Social, PR, and Influencer teams to ensure campaign alignment and support execution needs.
- Trend Spotting: Stay plugged into Gen-Z culture, emerging memes, and platform updates—sharing insights and ideas during brainstorms.
- Live & Cultural Coverage: Provide occasional social support during key brand moments, which may include evenings or weekends.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in social media, digital marketing, or content creation.
- Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, and short-form video trends, plus a curiosity to learn more.
- Strong copywriting and communication skills; ability to write in a sharp, Gen-Z-friendly voice.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks at once.
- A team player with a proactive attitude and passion for youth culture.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Google Slides, and Google Docs.
- Bonus: Experience using social media management platforms (like Dash Hudson, Monday.com, etc.).
