Job Description:
Position Overview
The Engineering Manager will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the design, development, and lifecycle support of hardware and software products used in professional AV and digital signage applications. This role requires both people leadership and hands-on technical involvement and works closely with manufacturing and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage engineers across hardware, firmware, and software
- Drive product development from concept, architecture, and design through validation and production
- Review schematics, PCB layouts, embedded firmware, and system-level designs
- Coordinate schedules, priorities, and risk management across projects
- Collaborate with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing
- Support manufacturing, troubleshooting, sustaining engineering, and product revisions
- Establish and improve development processes, standards, and documentation
- Manage external engineering partners or contractors as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers or projects
- Strong background in embedded systems, electronics, or product development
- Experience bringing products from prototype through mass production
- Ability to review and guide schematic, PCB, and firmware/software work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years in ProAV, digital signage, or commercial electronics
- Experience with HDMI, USB, Ethernet, EDID, and video/audio signal processing
- Familiarity with Android, Linux, and Windows-based systems
- Advanced understanding of Ethernet/Networking/Cloud Services
- Manufacturing experience including DFM/DFA and overseas contract manufacturing
- Experience managing outside engineering resources
